People Who Give a Damn, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization, seeks to help all people gain the most power possible over their own lives. What makes us different from other let’s change the whole world organizations is that putting people in charge isn’t the end goal, it is the process.
We help connect people who are trying to change the world to people who can support or help or be helped by them– but the communication tools used to make this connection do not privilege the initiators or any other group. A form of democratic is the technical trick to make this possible.
In grander words, we work for equal, open, mass communication and collaboration. People Who Give a Damn will build a network for everyone: for people who care about anything or everything to connect with each other, communicate without interference or overload, and unite and coordinate to make the world better in various ways.
While the name is apt, and accepted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the U.S. government, we will be using VisionsUnite or just the letters PWGD for the public organizing.
We are currently small. We intend to stay small as we provide infrastructure for groups and movements and not pursue our own agendas (as PWGD– as people and as part of other groups, we will be making use of the infrastructure like everyone else).
