Friends,

      A short note from Adam Sacks related to the important grassroots-level work he is doing motivated me to add a new category, “On the Ground” to the blog. It is for items, perhaps brief like this first one, devoted to “News about local grassroots efforts and struggles undertaken with a global perspective”. Here is the note from Adam:

Hi George –

      . . .The small town of Barnstead, NH has just this weekend passed an anti-corporate rights and water withdrawal ordinance, standing up to illegitimate state and federal law and precedent. It’s the first town outside of Pennsylvania to do so.
